Tracking the trackers

Online tracking fuels Ad industry with user data. With our content or not, information on our behaviour is being gathered, sent from our browser and sold to a highest bidder. Regulations meant to add transparency in effect pollute the web with dark UX. How can we protect ourselves from all that? How fingerprinting techniques are replacing cookies? How trackers become first parties? In this short talk you will learn the unique role of WebExtension in online privacy protection. We will describe the core mechanisms behind tracking and its prevention. You will learn how to create own Adblocker and why using one is a good idea even if you don't mind the ads.

Mateusz Krzeszowiak

A year of frontend optimizations for 13 million of customers

What does it mean that a website is fast? How do you measure its performance and get down to optimizing it? Why are too many ads a bad thing, but too few are also not optimal? Mateusz will answer these and other questions, more or less related to frontend performance, based on his experience gathered over the last year of working on making life easier for Allegro customers.
