Andrzej Blikle was born on September 24, 1939, in Warsaw, amidst the dramatic circumstances of the city’s bombardment. In his youth, he pursued education in challenging post-war conditions, graduating in mathematics from the University of Warsaw in 1962. As a scientist, he specialized in the mathematical foundations of computer science, introducing the theory of formal languages and programming semantics to Poland. He served as a professor at the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, lectured at prestigious international universities, and published groundbreaking scientific works. In the 1990s, he expanded his family’s confectionery business, A. Blikle, transforming it into a network of patisseries, cafes, and gourmet shops. At the same time, he promoted the philosophy of Total Quality Management (TQM), resulting in the book “The Doctrine of Quality” and numerous training sessions. He is a member of Academia Europaea and the Polish Information Processing Society, combining his passions for science, business, and social work.
