About Olga

I am a self-taught frontend developer with three years of hands-on experience in the field. My journey into programming began with algorithms, after which I moved to web-development. Currently, I am thriving in my role at Box, where I work for more than a year. Prior to transitioning into the tech industry, I spent nearly five years honing my skills as an architect. Outside of the digital realm, I find joy in staying active through sports like tennis, practicing yoga, and hitting the gym for weightlifting sessions. Additionally, I have a passion for indulging in the finer things in life, including exploring the world of wines and savoring delicious cuisine.

Less is slow. When one liners make you code more complex. (Lightning Talk ⚡️)

In my talk, I delve into the misconception that shorter code is always superior, highlighting the potential drawbacks of favoring brevity over clarity and efficiency. By exploring real-world examples, I will illustrate how seemingly elegant one-liners can inadvertently lead to slower, more convoluted codebases. On the presentation, I want to present solutions for achieving optimal balance, demonstrating how deliberate code structure and expansion can lead to improved speed and maintainability without sacrificing succinctness.
